
Hidden gems and family favourites across Shropshire will open free as part of Britain’s annual Heritage Open Days, a four day celebration of heritage and architecture this September.

The streets of Oswestry will be buzzing on July 31st when the town’s traders put on a shopping experience not to be missed. This will be an event for the whole family to enjoy in a celebration of the diversity and strength of all that Oswestry has to offer in terms of retail, art, heritage and culture.

A new portal website www.shropshiredaysout.co.uk has been launched to promote Oswestry and North Shropshire. The website is just one element of a whole marketing and PR campaign delivered by Shropshire Tourism on behalf of Shropshire Council and the Northern Area Partnership. The site features information on the market towns, news, downloadable trails and exclusive voucher offers for some of North Shropshire’s most popular attractions.

Blists Hill Victorian Town in Ironbridge has got just a few days left to beat off stiff competition to win £100,000. It is one of only four museums in the country shortlisted to win the prestigious Art Fund Prize.
